1. Introduction

Mosaci Studio ("Mosaci," "we," "us," or "our") is a browser-based platform that lets you convert images into mosaic color-by-number pages, printable puzzles, coloring books, and custom mosaic projects. Our website and application are available at mosacistudio.com.

Privacy is not an afterthought for us — it is a design principle. Wherever possible, image processing happens directly inside your browser. That means the photos you work with never travel over the internet to our servers. We built it this way intentionally, because your creative work should stay under your control.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, what we promise never to do with it, and what rights you have. If anything is unclear, please contact us.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information that is necessary to run the service and improve your experience. Here is what that means in practice.

Account Information

When you create a Mosaci Studio account, we collect basic identifying information:

• Your email address
• Your name, if you choose to provide it
• Authentication data if you sign in through a third-party provider (e.g. Google) — in that case we receive only what that provider shares with us

Usage Information

To keep the service running smoothly and catch bugs before they affect you, we automatically collect certain technical information when you visit or use Mosaci Studio:

• Browser type and version
• Device type and operating system
• Pages visited and features used within the app
• Referring URL (how you arrived at our site)
• Approximate geographic region (country or city level, derived from IP)
• Error logs and diagnostic events

We use this data to identify crashes, understand how features are used, and prioritize what to build next. We do not use it to build a profile of you as an individual.

Payment Information

Paid subscriptions are handled by a third-party payment processor. When you subscribe, you enter your payment details directly into a secure form operated by that processor — not Mosaci Studio. We receive only a transaction confirmation and a billing reference. We never see, store, or have access to your full credit card number, CVV, or bank account details.

3. Images and Generated Projects

You own everything you create. This includes the original photos you bring to the platform, the mosaic projects you generate, the color-by-number pages, and the PDFs and coloring books you export. Mosaci Studio claims no ownership over any of your content.

When you save a project to your account, metadata about that project (such as its name, creation date, and settings) is stored on our servers so that you can access it across devices. The project data is associated with your account and is not visible to other users.

Exported files — PDFs, image files, completed coloring books — are generated in your browser and downloaded directly to your device. We do not receive a copy of your exported files unless you explicitly share them with us (for example, when submitting a support request).

The information we do collect is used only for legitimate purposes directly related to running the service:

• Account management — to create, authenticate, and maintain your account
• Service delivery — to save your projects, sync settings across devices, and manage your subscription
• Technical support — to diagnose and resolve issues you report
• Product improvement — to understand which features are used and where friction exists, so we can build a better product
• Security and fraud prevention — to detect and respond to unauthorized access, abuse, or other threats to the platform or its users
• Legal compliance — to fulfill obligations under applicable law or respond to lawful requests

We do not use your data for advertising, behavioral tracking, or profiling for any purpose unrelated to operating Mosaci Studio.

6. Cookies and Analytics

Essential Cookies

We use essential cookies that are necessary for the site to function. These include session tokens that keep you logged in and security cookies that protect your account. You cannot opt out of essential cookies without losing access to authenticated features of the service.

Analytics Cookies

We may use analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with Mosaci Studio. These tools may set cookies or use similar tracking technologies. Depending on the tool in use, this data may include pages viewed, time spent, feature interactions, and general location (country/region level).

Analytics tools we use or may use include services such as Google Analytics, PostHog, or Plausible Analytics. Where a tool offers a privacy-preserving or cookie-free mode (such as Plausible), we prefer that configuration.

You can opt out of analytics tracking through your browser's cookie settings, by using a browser extension that honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, or by enabling Do Not Track in your browser.

7. Third-Party Services

Mosaci Studio relies on third-party services to operate. Each service receives only the minimum data required to perform its function.

• Authentication providers — if you sign in with a social login (e.g., Google), that provider authenticates you and shares a limited profile with us (typically email and display name)
• Payment processors — handle subscription billing and payment card data on our behalf; we do not receive or store raw payment details
• Cloud hosting and infrastructure — our application and account databases are hosted on cloud infrastructure providers; data may be stored in one or more regions depending on provider configuration
• Analytics providers — as described in Section 6, we may use analytics services to measure product usage

We do not sell data to any of these providers or allow them to use your data for their own marketing purposes. Each provider is bound by a data processing agreement or operates under a published data processing policy.

8. Data Retention

We retain different categories of data for different lengths of time:

• Account data (email, name, subscription status) is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, this data is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law (for example, billing records required for tax compliance).
• Project data (saved projects and associated settings stored on our servers) is retained until you delete the project or your account. Deleted projects are removed from our servers within 30 days.
• Locally processed image data — because image conversion happens in your browser, raw photo data never reaches our servers in the first place. There is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf.
• Analytics and log data is retained for up to 24 months in aggregated or pseudonymized form, then deleted or further anonymized.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have specific legal rights regarding your personal data. Regardless of your location, Mosaci Studio respects the following rights:

• Access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — you can update inaccurate or incomplete data through your account settings, or by contacting us
• Deletion — you can delete your account and request erasure of your personal data
• Data portability — you can request an export of your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection and restriction — you can object to or ask us to restrict certain processing of your data
• Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have these rights under the GDPR (or equivalent UK/Swiss law). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

10. Children's Privacy

Mosaci Studio is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately at support@mosacistudio.com and we will delete it promptly.

11. Security

We apply industry-standard security measures to protect the data we do hold:

• All data in transit is encrypted using TLS
• Account passwords are hashed using a secure, modern algorithm
• Access to production systems is limited to authorized personnel
• We conduct periodic security reviews and respond promptly to reported vulnerabilities

Because most image processing happens locally in your browser, the attack surface for your photos is significantly smaller than with traditional cloud-processing services — your images simply aren't in transit on our network.

12. International Users

Mosaci Studio is operated from and may store data in servers located in the United States and/or other jurisdictions depending on our hosting providers. If you are accessing the service from outside those jurisdictions — including from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Canada — your information may be transferred to and processed in a country whose data protection laws differ from your own.

Where required by law (for example, under GDPR), we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure an adequate level of protection for data transferred internationally.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will notify you by:

• Posting the updated policy on this page with a revised effective date
• Sending a notice to the email address associated with your account (for significant changes)

Your continued use of Mosaci Studio after the effective date of an updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you disagree with a material change, you may close your account before it takes effect.
